We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Scrum Master to join our Engineering department at Exalate.
We are rapidly expanding our business and are scaling our engineering department with an additional new development team. As scrum master of this new team, you will be championing Agile principles, fostering a collaborative team environment, and ensuring a smooth collaborative flow with the other development teams.
Role responsibilities:
- Facilitation and Collaboration:
- Lead and facilitate Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Cultivate a collaborative and open communication environment within the team.
- Coaching and Mentorship:
- Coach team members on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
- Provide mentorship to support the team's growth and development.
- Scrum Process Advocacy:
- Advocate for and promote the adoption of Scrum principles and Agile methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices.
- Impediment Removal:
- Identify and eliminate impediments that may hinder the team's progress.
- Work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues impacting project delivery.
- Team Protection:
- Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions.
- Ensure a positive and supportive working environment for the team.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Facilitate regular retrospectives and support the team in implementing improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
- Collaboration with Product Owner:
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure a well-maintained product backlog.
- Assist in effective prioritization of features based on business value.
- Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and report key Agile metrics, providing visibility into team progress.
- Utilize metrics to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training on Agile principles and practices to team members and stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate relevant practices into the team's workflow.
- Conflict Resolution:
- Address conflicts within the team and facilitate resolution in a constructive manner.
- Promote a positive team culture and mindset.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
- Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM) is a plus.
- Experience in a scaled Agile environment is a plus.
- Affinity with Software Engineering best practices (XP) is a plus.
- Willing and able to travel once per month for a minimum of 2 days to a central point in Spain during the first 6 months.
